To celebrate it’s 2016 Charity Week, which kicked off on Monday, the University of Limerick’s Students’ Union (ULSU) has another unique Snapchat filter.

This is the second filter from ULSU Marketing and Communications Administrator, Killian Stone and will be available until Saturday morning, when Charity Week 2016 comes to an end.

Mr Stone previously designed and successfully submitted a Snapchat geofilter for the Union at the beginning of last month, showing UL’s iconic flag-posts.

The new limited edition filter is simpler and just reads “UL Charity Week 2016” in alternating red and blue colours.

UL Charity Week 2016 kicked off on Sunday night with the Union’s County Colours event in the Stables Club at the university.

Monday saw successful events ranging from a dunk tank to leg waxing in the SU and Stables courtyards, despite the bad weather.

Game of Throne’s Kristian Nairn, who plays friendly giant Hodor in the popular HBO series, played Rave of Thrones on Monday night.

Tuesday’s Nearly Naked Mile attracted national attention with Joe.ie picking up a video of the event as ULSU’s own mascot, Wolfie, ran the event to raise money for charity.

Tonight ULSU’s courtyard will play host to Professor Green and more daytime and evening events are to take place right up to Friday night with the weekly TGIF event in the Stables Club at 9pm.

This week isn’t the first time ULSU hit the national media spotlight. In December ULSU ran its ProscrastiSnaps competition for students in the lead up to their end of semester exams.

The competition had students post their best procrastination methods on Snapchat for the chance to win one the union’s UL Wolves t-shirts, and was open for almost a month as students prepared for and sat their exams.
