Student Life has announced its annual award winners on an virtual ceremony held on Friday 9th April.
This year, the awards took place virtually the form of a YouTube video.
The Club and Society of the Year went to UL FM, beating competition from nominees Economics and Investments and Enactus UL.
“We are over the moon to have been announced as this year’s winners of the prestigious Club or Society of the Year Award at the 2021 UL Wolves C&S Awards,” said a spokesperson for the society. “It’s a massive achievement after a very difficult year none of us could have prepared for.”
The Jason Hackett Award in Conjunction with UL Sport went to Luke Vickery from Archery.
Tariq El Masri took home The Mike Sadlier Award in conjunction with the Arts Office.
The Event of the Year winner went to the Environmental Society, beating Outdoor Pursuit’s ‘Social Distancing at Sunrise’ and Handball Club’s ‘Five for Jigsaw’
The charitable awareness and engagement nominations included the music society, kayak club and Enactus, with Kayak beating off this stiff competition.
Tadgh McSwiney scooped Individual of the Year, fending off competition from fellow nominees Kayak’s Darragh Lehane and Kyeesha Glenn-Davi from Wistem2D.
The Paddy McHugh Best Fresher award went to Finn Coleman from Photographic, beating Evan Mansfield from Economics and Investment and Astronomy’s Micah Neilson.
“A huge thank you and well done to all of our nominees this year,” wrote Aisling Ryan, Clubs and Societies Co-Ordinator.
